I lost the ability to use PLEX about two weeks ago on my TV’s… all of them… Panasonic, Sharp, Samsung but it plays fine on any other device such as a laptop, phone, etc.
It does find my server, shows all the files but when I play, it says “error, an error occurred while attempting to play this video…” What’s happened… I’ve tried everything, logging in / out, reset server, reset my fire tv device, nada… it’s gotta. be a plex issue. Help.
@jackjohnsonsea Looking at your account I don’t think that is the same issue as your cert looks fine. what are you running server on windows/mac/some NAS?
No, it errors out and says, Server Settings Unavailable? I also see a plex update that I haven’t added yet as well. Other options? I’m on a MAC thought and your updates are always in a .pkg format for PC’s if I recall only.
If it matters, i’m on: You are currently running version 1.21.1.3830 on the server “Jacks Movie Server Palm Springs”. Version 1.23.1.4602 is now available.
If your server is running on Synology it is an .spk file. You should be able to either update from the app store on the Synology or download from our site and manually update via the Synology interface.
Arrgghh, I downloaded the MAC update and nothing changed and I still can’t access my log files. Other suggestion? I rebooted my computer and then clicked on the updated app.
if you mistakenly downloaded and installed the mac version on your computer and don’t need it then just quit it from the menu bar on top right and remove it from your Applications folder.
for Synology after you have downloaded the correct one for your model. To manually install Plex, open Package Center and click on Manual Install (top center of the window), the rest should be straight forward, just follow the prompts.
Ok I can get the logs now… here they are… just reference back I’m trying to resolve the issue why no movies are playing on my TV’s but play on other devices.
