Another lifetime Plex Pass subscriber here with multiple RSS urls unable to be added.
At the very least, a weekly update would be nice considering many of us have spent a good chunk of money to use your product only to feel unheard when problems arise.
People are offering to send logs and it’s radio silence from you guys. Please, give us updates or ask for some logs or something!
I also want to keep this thread alive. I’ve also got a podcast feed that won’t add properly (it’s the Knowledge Fight RSS feed from libsyn, already mentioned above). Mine is doing the thing where the show doesn’t show up, but individual episodes do if I switch the Podcasts library to episode view. They won’t play though, and I get the same “Something went wrong” error if I try to navigate to the show from an episode.
Come on Plex. It’s been almost a year and over 100 replies to this thread. Please fix it.
I mean, is not like I use Plex for the podcasts specifically, but is an additional feature so why not complain when it does not f-ing works?
BTW @BigWheel care to share some input on what is the Plex team doing regarding this? We have not heard anything on months, last we heard from you was back on September 21st, and the idea that a core feature has a known bug and there’s not even an update on the root cause of it for over 3 months is beyond ridiculous
There are many current and old threads for this issue in this forum, many dating back to 2018. Since there isn’t any ticketing system or support contact anymore, you can’t really get any support on any issues with the software.
Best we can do is keep replying so the thread doesn’t get automatically closed from being ignored for more than 3 months.
Let me be clear, I’m not threatening legal action, but it should be known that there is no amount of TOS legalese regarding arbitration of disputes between PLEX and paying customers that will protect PLEX from a regulator investigating claims of false or misleading representations and deceptive marketing practices.
I’ve been scouring the forum to find a fix for this issue when trying to add a podcast by URL and found that this thread seems to be the latest/most active so decided to add my request for a fix here!
Trying, and consistently failing, to add this podcast (it’s the same podcast but I’ve provided every URL and platform I can find to try and successfully get it added to ‘My Podcasts’!):
Another “me too”. Tried to add NPR’s Fresh Air. Was surprised that I couldn’t find it in the list of known podcasts. And then when I tried to add it manually by the URL, it just said that something went wrong.
Instead of saying “something wrong wrong”, it’d be helpful if Plex was able to be more specific in its error message. At what step in the process did it go wrong? A problem accessing the URL? A problem parsing the feed? Etc. Instead, we are left with an utterly useless error message and all we can do is sit and wait for a fix that might never come.
I’ll add “me too”. The podcasts feature seems great otherwise but this lack of normal behaviour means I can’t use it. I’m really looking forward to seeing it resolved.
I’m in a slightly different scenario though. I did have a Podcast working in ‘My Podcasts’ area, but all of a sudden it disappeared out of the list. I tried re-adding the Podcast via URL and thats when I get the dreaded error eveyone else is seeing.
HOWEVER
Using Plexamp to listen to the Podcasts, the new episodes of my missing show still show up in the latest episode list, so I can listen to it still, I just can’t see it under ‘My Podcasts’.
I also added the three podcasts to iTunes were they work fine and then exported an OPML file. But plex didn´t add any of the three podcasts. This time there were no errors but My Podcasts only shows the “100 Yardas” podcast that was added originally with the URL.
This is the content of the OPML file that iTunes exported.

Posted a new thread yesterday with the same issue.
I listen to a podcast that has been migrated to a new RSS URL. After deleting the old RSS feed it still showed as “recommended” in my account (as does any other show for that matter).
Since the new RSS after the podcast was re-launched included all of the prior episodes, I suspect there’s cached metadata within my online account that prevents the new RSS from being added.
Adding it shows it in “recommended” but no episodes will play and the result of the attempt to add it to “My Podcasts” returns “something went wrong: an unknown error occurred.”
So, it looks like Plex has no interest at all on fixing podcast, as there has not even been a real acknowledgment of the issue, the only Plex employee who replied at point @BigWheel has been in silence for a few months now
In the end I have moved back to pocketcasts, is $10 a year, but it works, all the podcasts that failed to add by URL have been added to it with no issues
Who knows, maybe mentioning another software will get a reply from Plex
