+1. Same issue.
Having issue with a feed I created, and have run through validity checkers, and it would be helpful if Plex gave some more useful error output to help me resolve this issue.
We too have a problem with our own hosted rss at https://londonscottie.club/feed/podcast
We have been trying for weeks and it appears that all we see is Plex @Bigwheel saying a month ago that they still have not found what is the cause. The issue goes back to early this year.
Very embarrassing since our rss feed has been easily placed with most podcast directories.
More importantly, it is unfortunate that Plex doesn’t have a dedicated customer services team. Using a Lifetime Plex Pass we cannot watch media from outside the wifi area via Plex. We can view the dashboard but not view any media. Looks like Remote Relay no longer works as a Plan B. Very frustrating!
I’m also trying to import my (rather short) list of podcasts into Plex. Everything worked, except for one:
https://futilitycloset.libsyn.com/rss
This gives the Something Went Wrong error.
Bumping to at least continue the issue - I can’t add Kill James Bond! (Kill James Bond!), like maffls - though interestingly enough, some of the episodes themselves appear in search on Plex. I can’t add or play them, and clicking on the podcast title simply dumps me back to the same “Something Went Wrong” error.

I too have this issue with the following url: Indbegrebet af...
Hi. I’m just keeping this thread alive, because I listen to a lot of podcasts, particularly ones that I support via Patreon, meaning I get access to archives of commercial-free content that I would like to download, organize and store on my Plex server, but currently can’t right now. Literally not a single one of my Patreon URLs work in Plex. Anyway, it’s been a while since there’s been any kind of update. Would appreciate some idea of what’s going on.
Similarly, I’m having the same problem with this podcast:
I don’t know if they have made progress, but I get the image of the podcast, but can’t play or download. Get a 400 error. Only works on the iOS app, does not accept the link on the web app.
Let’s keep this alive! I’m trying to add my podcast. I’d prefer to use Plex for all of my media.
There has really not been any news or updates from the Plex team regarding this, the most we had was back on September with @BigWheel saying that they had no idea what the cause was
I don’t know what it is other than whatever mechanism Plex has for parsing the RSS feed, it can parse some feeds perfectly fine and others not so much. I don’t know why myself. There are many methods and services in which RSS feeds get created such as those services like Anchor by Spotify and others. I really don’t know what else it could be but it’s sad it’s taken so long to enjoy something that was advertised to work earlier on it’s release.
Same issue for me with God Awful Movies
I was thinking about switching from Overcast to Plex for my podcasts so I can use multiple devices, but since they haven’t posted in a couple months I guess this just isn’t an important feature for them.
@BigWheel @drzoidberg33 Checking in after a couple months and wondering if Podcasts will get some support? Thanks!
Still not working. Just tried adding http://feeds.feedburner.com/1500espn/podcast/judd and no luck
Same issue here trying to add the MA Lock in podcast.
Get the usual ‘something went wrong’ message when trying to add the following RSS URL:
http://feeds.megaphone.fm/WRBM2702295355
and have tried adding the OPML file exported from https://opml-gen.ovh/
and from Podcast addict android app. The latter of which I have attached bellow.
When trying with the OPML method I get no error message but it does not show up.
REALLY hope that this can be taken a proper look at soon as it appears to be affecting a lot of people.

@BigWheel has someone found “the root cause” yet ? my guess is that its on the todo list of someone with tons of things to do already…
You guys have to understand that podcasts took an enormous place in the media consumption these days. you could even bring more people into Plex just by being a podcast manager at first.
its basic stuff!
i don’t understand why it is not fixed already… can someone technical explain why is it so hard to deploy/implement/fix ?
For those interested i use this workaround : GitHub - akhilrex/podgrab: A self-hosted podcast manager/downloader/archiver tool to download podcast episodes as soon as they become live with an integrated player. it’s actually pretty good. Then it automatically downloads into the same music folder than Plex.
Then on Plex i created a collection named Podcasts. Which we could at least have a type of library called “Podcasts” in addition to movies/tv/music/games/etc… @BigWhell that would be the least, what do you think ?
edit : i’ve put my suggestion here if you guys want to vote Add a Podcast library type thanks
Same issue for me with The Race F1 Podcast and others
I tried adding a podcast to Plex and got the error “Something Went Wrong” as well. It’s a Libsyn RSS feed that works everywhere else. I was going to list Plex as a source on our website and promote through our show. I can’t do that if the site can’t fix their RSS feed source.
I looked at this thread history and the problem seems to have been around for a while. I hope they get it fixed so I can include them in our show directory sources.
I looked at workarounds and they don’t seem to work.

This one works: Das Coronavirus-Update von NDR Info
This one not: Freak Show
