Cannot claim server after password change

Read post about security breach. Changed plex password from my server (Debian 12). Now I cannot access my server at https[:]//192.168.1.15[:]32400/web/index.html in order to claim it.

Firefox: An error occurred during a connection to 192.168.1.15:32400. PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR

Chromium: This site can’t be reached

192.168.1.15 unexpectedly closed the connection.

Tried the steps suggested here: PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR after changing PlexPass/Server password - #6 by ChuckPa

But it did not work for me.

Hi,

I had problem of not being able to access via the browser.

I logged onto the plex machine and followed the guide in the first post here:-
I can’t claim server after password update : r/PleX

Basically, I went and generated a claim token https://plex.tv/claim

Then appended that claim token to the following command which I ran in the CLI

curl -X POST http://127.0.0.1:32400/myplex/claim?token=XXXX

where XXXX is the claim=xxxxxxxxxx token

Don’t use your custom domain, if you have them set up. Only the local IP address of the server.

Use the http protocol, not https.

That was it. I had the local address bookmarked using https as it generally works after adding a security exception for the plex.direct cert. But this doesn’t work for the claim server process. Using http worked. Thanks all!
