Cannot Claim Server (error out of nowhere)- All Was Fine for 1 Year

Just to confirm Port Forwarding is setup for Port 32400 and tested on the Router. NAT policies are also setup up correctly for this Plex Service. In the Plex menu I am unable to select this port (a red circle appears with a line through the circle) A WAN port scan shows this port is “open”. Port 1900 is not setup and is closed I’m not sure how critical this UDP 1900 is with relation to claiming this server. In all I’d prefer not to have any ports “open” especially due to the vulnerabilities in the Linux OS that are within this WD NAS drive but that’s another story.

Solved

Plex is unable to Claim the Server if the following rules exist and are Enabled on your Router for your NAS device:

“Discard or Block HTTP or HTTPS” for the NAS Device in the LAN to WAN direction. These Custom rules were in place to thwart anyone outside of my LAN to gain Management access

I find this interesting as I was still able to manage the Plex settings via HTTP or HTTPS to my NAS device (I was not blocked) just that Claiming the Server did not link to my Plex account

Streaming from your server can all be done within your network so blocking outside access wouldn’t affect it. However, claiming a server does require outside access so Plex.tv can identify your server.
