Cannot connect to my HDHomerun anymore

Plex Media Server.log (91.9 KB)

I have had my HDHOMERUN Connect working on Plex for several years. Not sure what happened or when it happened but Live TV and DVR stopped working. When I try to add it back to Plex, it cannot find the HDHOMERUN Connect. I know the HD is working, reachable from the server as I can use the HDHomerun app. Also I created another Plex server and it finds the device easily. I read where it might be a database corruption so I renamed the /Plug-in Support/Databases/com.plexapp.plugins.library.db and restarted Plex and added my libraries, etc. and it still won’t find the HDHomerun.

Anyone have any troubleshooting tips or solution?

Plex Media Server is unable to connect to the HDHR:

Jun 16, 2022 23:34:07.477 [0x7f0e666e0b38] WARN - [HttpClient] HTTP error requesting GET http://192.168.0.217:80/discover.json (7, Couldn't connect to server) (Failed to connect to 192.168.0.217 port 80: Host is unreachable)

Are the server and HDHR on the same logical (local) network? That is, does the server have a 192.168.0.x/24 IP address as well?

Also, it would help in troubleshooting for you to enable Debug logging in the server’s general settings (but leave Verbose off).

Are the server and HDHR on the same logical (local) network? That is, does the server have a 192.168.0.x/24 IP address as well? Yes, on the same local network the IP address of Plex on my qnap nas is http://192.168.0.215:32400/ and the HDHR is http://192.168.0.217/

I have turned on Debug logging and tried several times to get Plex to add my HDHR and attached it here.

Thank you for assisting me.

It appears that PMS thinks there’s an HDHR on your network at 192.168.10.12:

Jun 17, 2022 13:38:58.480 [0x7fa835507b38] DEBUG - HTTP requesting GET http://192.168.10.12:80/discover.json

If that’s the same device, it might explain why PMS can’t communicate with it at the other address (moved to a different network).

Did you renumber your network, or move the HDHR to another connection? Is that a valid network on your LAN? Perhaps a different VLAN?

I haven’t renumbered it. There is nothing on that IP address either. Everything follows 192.168.0.x

Is there a way to clear that out? My test plex server I created could find the HDHR with no problem (and no, I didn’t keep it on the other server, I deleted it after I made sure it could set it up).

What do you see if you open a browser and navigate to http://hdhomerun.local? If the HDHR’s status page loads, what do you see when you select the System Menu?

I couldn’t get to is using that name. I had to use http://192.168.0.217/system.html

It shows:

System Status
Hardware Model HDTC-2US
Firmware Version 20220203
Device ID 10580474
MAC Address 00:18:DD:05:80:47
IP Address 192.168.0.217
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

Update: I could get to that using the name you gave once I turned off my NordVPN on this pc. Note also, I have tried setting up the DVD with/without NordVPN being connected and disconnected. Same information displayed.

Any other suggestions? This is still a problem.

Is there any way to delete the old information regarding the HDR?

Can anyone suggest more things to try? I’d really like to use Plex for my LiveTV and DVR again.

Please?

Is there a way to delete the DVR information in Plex? Perhaps deleting the information will let me reinstall the HDHR.
