My hdhomerun connect duo stoped and now PLEX can not find it. It worked for years but nothing now. I can bring it in the HDhomerun app so it is working but PLEX does not recognise it not even if I enter the IP address
it is issue we are looking into. something is corrupting the epg database files and we have not figured out what is causing it.
stop the server from running then in Appdata\local\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Databases and then delete three files that start with tv.plex.providers.epg
I don’t know exactly. I’ll create a new topic for my unique situation, but basically, I just bought a new HDConnect Duo and plugged it in for the first time. I went to create the DVR with live TV and the first time, it quickly found the HDHomerun and I chose channels, etc. When I went to create the DVR, it threw an error. So, I updated the firmware on the HDHomerun and updated the Plex Media Server version on my Synology NAS.
Now Plex won’t detect the HDHomerun at all. I’ve done some troubleshooting and deleted the plugin db files, which just get re-created by Plex. Still no luck seeing the tuner. Sounded like a similar issue to what others have seen.
Ok, thanks. I did delete 3 files and my DVR came back. Is it just going to drop again though? It’s impossible to rely on if it’s just going to die at any time.
The error message is “We couldn’t find any hardware we recognize, but will continue to look for available devices.” - of course, when I manually enter the IP for the HDHomerun, it appears to have no impact.
but i see all those errors when you were trying to download the logs files and I suspect you have some other general DB issue also going on compounding the issue and making the workaround of deleting the epg databases not work for you.
Gonna show your logs to some who are more knowledgable about Synology than I am
If it helps, I have been trying a few more things. I completely removed Plex from my NAS, then deleted the Plex user and Plex shared folder. Had some trouble re-installing, but finally got v1.24.0.4930 going (had to first install the default package in the Synology package manager, then did the manual install of the later version).
I went back to Live TV/DVR setup again, and it immediately saw the tuner. But, AGAIN, at the tuner setup screen, I got the “There was a problem saving your DVR. Please try again.” error.
Folks, anyone running an ARMv7 based system , installing for the first time, using a version higher than 1.22.3 is likely to have a problem getting PMS initialized.
It’s a known problem I’m trying to isolate now so it can be fixed.
The workaround is:
Uninstall whatever you have
Open File Station
In the Plex shared folder, rename Library to Library-broken
Install one of these two (depends which nas you have)
or
Now, when you open Plex, it will take longer to start because it’s properly initializing its database (where the known problem is).
