Cannot Connect to Plex Locally Mac OS X

I looked and saw similar topics, but none of the suggested fixes worked for me. I turned off Enable Relay since I was getting an indirect connection with it on, but when it’s off any of the devices I use (LG TV, iPhone, Xbox) cannot see the server on the same network via ethernet or Wi-Fi.

I do not need to set up remote access, I just want it to work within my home network. It was working before, but I don’t know of anything that changed.

Network setup:
Airport Extreme (connected to modem) - LG TV (wireless) and Xbox (wired) as clients
Hardwired to Time Capsule (set to bridge mode, so no double NAT or anything like that)
PMS on iMac hardwired to time capsule

From what I understand, I do not need to open any ports on the Airport Extreme for this to work in my local network. Here are the things I have tried:
Uninstalling Plex completely and reinstalling following this - https://support.plex.tv/articles/201941078-uninstall-plex-media-server/
Change DNS servers in the router settings to Google’s and CloudFlare’s (neither worked)
Remove claim on server, create new account, claim server
Disabled secure connections (also tried preferred)
Confirmed IP is IPv4 not IPv6
Confirmed Firewall on the iMac is disabled

This shouldn’t matter either, but for more information, the remote access tab states that it is unavailable outside my network and I can’t get that to work either with port forwarding (not a problem for me).

On the PMS on the iMac I am able to login to the web app of Plex and see the server correctly using multiple web browsers and incognito mode by going to http://[iMacIP]:32400/web. On an iPhone connected via Wi-Fi to the same network that page will not open.

Again, this setup was working previously and I don’t know what has changed. I would really appreciate any help, does anyone have any ideas?

Do you have a firewall or security tools on your router that could interfere with the network detection of Plex?

Are your clients logged into the same account as your Plex Media Server?

Thanks for the response.

I don’t have any firewall or security tools on the router. I took a look at that link as well, but it mentions local firewall ports rather than router ports. I can open these ports on the router if you think that might fix it.

Yes, the clients and the server are logged into the same account.

I too have a iMac and LG OLED, let see if I can assist.

Firstly visit your server/ Network settings.

a) Secure connections - Preferred
IPv6 Disabled

b) Enable GDM

c) List of IP addresses
Add your Router’s LAN IP with /24 after. Example: 192.168.0.1/24
Save settings

d) If using a VPN make sure your using the correct Interface, your Plex Servers Computer LAN IP Address

e) Visit Server/DLNA Settings and disabled DLNA

Do you have a Static/ Reserved LAN IP address for your server LAN IP in your router? If not highly recommend.

Do you have access to your LG Plex app/Client settings? If so go to Settings /General and scroll to bottom and Allow fallback to insecure connections ALWAYS.

Enable Auto login

In your LG TV network settings, make sure IPv6 is disabled. Then you can try using a Public DNS server like 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1, this option is only available with a manual entry.

Restart everything, TV from power source, Router, Server.

Thanks for jumping in. I tried each one of those changes and am still getting the same issue where the clients can’t see the server. I tried on the LG using Wi-Fi and I tried on the Xbox wired.

Another thing I tried, since I have two routers in my network as explained above, was to turn off the router my iMac is wired into and get on WiFi of the main router that is connected to my modem. That router serves the TV and the Xbox, but that also did not work.

I am at a loss. I’ve tried opening the ports on the Airport Extreme, but if I go to canyouseeme.org and put in my public IP and 32400 it states closed. Using my Network Utility on my iMac is shows as open. I don’t know what’s going on…
