Hello everyone,
I don’t know if other people are facing the same issue as I am but since I upgraded PMS to 1.16.3.1402, I cannot access my server from any client. I can of course access my library from the web app on my server PC but cannot do so from my laptop or my PS4. It sees the server but just says “server is unavailable”.
I have tried everything like disabling Secure Connections and made sure that everything was connected on the same network but nothing so far.
What makes me think that the issue comes from the update is the fact that my roommate, who has his own Plex account, still manages to access his PC server from the PS4 and he is obviously using the same network as I. The different is that he is on Linux and he didn’t upgrade to the latest version (after seeing my issue he thought it would be better not to upgrade).
I find it weird that one server can be accessed normally while another cannot even though they are on the exact same network.
I also have a complete loss of localhost:32400 connectivity to Plex after installing this update.
Notably, I can tell that Plex is “mostly alive” from the logs - media scanning is happening, etc.
I already tried reinstalling PMS and the client app but it hasn’t solved my problem.
So frustrating, I haven’t been able to watch my media content in my living room for quite some time now.
Happened to me too. I had to roll back to 1297 and all connection issues instantly went back to normal. Although my issue was mostly related to remote connection as my local connection seemed fine under 1402. But maybe try rolling back?
Unfortunately as I already reinstalled PMS (1402) once, I have lost the Updates folder so it seems I cannot roll back anymore.
I guess there is no way to download a previous version of it on the internet?
I have managed to find an older version to download (1.15.4.994) and install it but I still have the same issue.
I give up, I have tried absolutely everything and spent way too much time on this. I guess there is no more Plex for me.
Thank you very much! But unfortunately I have tried all versions and nothing worked
I believe the problem is with the computer because like I said in my original post, my roommate has no problem streaming from his computer to the PS4 and needless to say we use the same local network.
I haven’t done anything particular on my computer recently (like installing new software, etc) so I don’t know how the problem appeared. Two weeks ago I was streaming normally, then my roommate created his own account to which he signed in on the PS4 and streamed his computer, then last week I signed out from his account to sign in on mine and that’s when it stopped working. I even asked my roommate to completely delete his account and PMS from his computer, thinking that perhaps that’s what created the problem but that didn’t fix anything.
I think I will just keep praying until I either find what the problem is or Plex releases a new version that fixes it.
hey There, same issue here.
Only the laptop version works.
But I have another server on a WD mycloud which works perfectly.
But my TV, PS3, PS4 & tablet won’t find my Plex server on my laptop whereas they are on the same LAN. Above this, I can’t enable remote access anymore but that happened before and it was never an issue.
It’s probably the Plex client app on the PS4 that’s the problem. I mean it’s always been a bad app with video suddenly buffering indefinitely forcing your to restart the app, etc.
The funny thing is that I can access my Plex Server from the Media Player of the PS4 but not the official Plex app…
