Server Version#: 1.16.2.1321
Player Version#: 2.37.2 Desktop (all players have issue noted below)
I noticed after updating my Plex Server from 1.16.1291 to 1.16.2.1321 my Local and external play was interrupted. I was receiving “Indirect Server” notifications in all players TV’s/Android Phones/Desktop players etc. After completely resetting my network to default i still had the issue. So i reverted back to the previous version of the Server “1.16.1291” and this fixed the issue instantly. Has anyone else had a similar issue?
*Not sure if this is a noted bug or just a bug with my setup. Could not find proper tags for Bugs in updates sorry in advance if i missed it. *
Setup:
I3-3240, GTX 660, 8GB of ram. 128GB SSD(OS Windows 10 Pro)
2x8TB HDD Raid 1
Century Link router in Transparent Bridge mode, Google WIFI router, Computer is wired to a switch directly behind Google WIFI.
For me it was the recent v1.16.3.1402 that broke my remote connections. After installing the update, I started noticing all external connections were suddenly marked “indirect” and resetting my network settings and/or router didn’t do a thing. In the end decided to revert back to v1.16.2.1297 and everything was instantly fixed and back to normal again.
Glad I am not the only one who has had server issues ha!
I’d did finally get me to set my modem as bridged instead of setting it as another router. No more double-NAT. Originally I thought that was the problem, because my network in general was having issues with DHCP.
I’ve done some further digging and found that my Router was dropping connections to my Plex server, even though I’ve had Port Forwarding configured I found that I had to put a reverse forward in as well. As I ended up putting my public port as an internal port and my private port as an external port on my router and vice versa.
My remote access is now staying up and I can connect remotely, hopefully this helps others.
