Cannot Create New Library - Language Dropdown Not Working

Server Version#: Version 1.41.0.8992
Plex Media Server Logs_2024-09-21_11-39-57.zip (3.7 MB)

Unable to create new library as the language drop down is unavailable, thereby keeping ‘NEXT’ button greyed out to next step.
Restarted plex server a few times and was able to recreate issue multiple times.

I had a Plex update that allowed ‘Language’ dropdown become available again, allowing to make a new library.
However, now I am on Plex Server 4.41.08994-f2c27da23 (Plex Web version 4.136.1), and the same issue is recurring: language drop down is unavailable, so I cannot create a new library.

Do you see the same problem if you use the hosted version of the web client at https://app.plex.tv?

Yes, the issue is found via this path as well: https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/server
Usually plex opens at the 127.0.0.1/port/web/index.html

I’m having the same problem. Did this ever get resolved?

TIA.

I just upgraded Plex Media Server to 0.8993. Now when I go the Add Libraries screen, the spinner just spins and I don’t see what used to be there.

I see this same issue and another bug where the meta-data agents are not available on the TrueNAS Core/BSD version. You may also be unable to edit an existing library (add new folders). It started with version 1.40.0 and is still there in the latest version. I have reverted to version 1.32.8, that is the last version that worked properly. I am running 1.41.0.8992 on my Ubuntu box and it does not have these 2 bugs.

No, unfortunately. I’m still on 1.41.0.8994 (per General tab) and no new updates have come out yet to address this.

After searching multiple posts, I found out that disabling the VPN while Adding/Updating Libraries bypasses the problem.

Apparently, even though I’m using split-tunneling to enable Remote Access, the VPN was causing the problem.

Thank you for searching and sharing…that did the trick! Turned off VPN and Language drop down populated after a brief second to ‘load’, as if it was downloading. Obviously Plex is requesting the language list, but I’m curious why that minor feature wouldn’t work thru VPN.
