Unable to create library - language selection

Server Version#: 1.41.6.9685 (Synology DSM install)

I am completely unable to create new libraries due to the language selection bug referenced in many forum posts. Unfortunately all of these posts have been closed with no real solution.

To be clear, this is the issue wherein the language selection dropdown box has no values populated when attempting to creating a new library, and the UI will not allow me to create a new library without this field.

I have tried every recommendation I can find such as disabling my VPN, accessing over LAN (local IP:32400), accessing over remote connection (app.plex.tv), trying multiple OSs, multiple browsers and my server is at the latest available version.

This seems to be a consistent issue for years and is currently proving to be a serious frustration.

Plex team if you’re monitoring these posts do you have any information at all you can share for how to resolve this.

Stop and restart the server on your NAS.
Then immediately try and create a library.

Btw. using the hosted web app has nothing to do with a remote connection.

I tried this but didn’t change anything. Any other ideas?

Accessing via “app.plex.tx” reroutes through the externally accessible domain name that’s assigned to my external IP, is that not by definition a remote connection?

Any help Plex team - anything better than turning it off and on again?

There’s tickets showing this being a problem for users dating back to 2023 - it must be known and surely there’s a solution in hand?

Try installing the latest beta version 1.41.8.9834.

Fingers crossed, that may solve your issue, but if not, please provide your non-verbose Plex server logs, thanks.

To add to Trumpy,

This problem has usual;y shown up when the Syno has a DNS / gateway IP address configuration problem.

PMS needs to contact Plex.tv to get your language info.
If it can’t, nothing will happen.

Thanks both I’ll try beta in the morning (I’m in the UK) and come back with some logs if that hasn’t fixed it.

I’d be very surprised if it’s my gateway config but I’ll double check that too.

Not that it solves this post but I have just reverse-engineered the POST request to create a new library and managed to create one using curl.
