To get this out of the way… I am on the latest Plex Pass server build. Running on Windows Server 2016. I have a HDHomerun Prime, and I am using it with Verizon Fios via a cable card, my zip code is 22033.
Essentially, the EPG is either not refreshing (and updating), or only partially refreshing. I have had multiple occasions where I can watch the progress indicator count up, only to have nothing show up in the program guide, or have it refresh and I seem to be missing program guide data for HD channels. Occasionally I can see the refreshing procedure get stuck at a certain percent and never complete. In short, I cannot directly narrow down an exact problem except to say that the EPG has major issues.
The issues are so bad that it has essentially rendered the entire DVR feature useless. Without program guide data, plex has no idea what to record or when. I have missed many many recordings because of this.
Currently, I have 22 shows set up to record. I know they are not all airing, but for the next two weeks, only two episodes are scheduled. And I know for a fact there should be quite a bit more. Of the two episodes I do have, they are from two different shows, both of which should available on HD channels, yet the recordings are set to SD.
On occasion I seem to be able to get the guide to refresh properly by either restarting the plex server or deleting the dvr device and re-adding it (which is pain and a lot of work since I do not want all channels to show up and have to manually remove a large number of channels). However, it usually seems even if I can get it working, its just the first refresh that works, and then subsequent refreshes seem to not return complete data.
I realize there are a number of similar posts about issues with the EPG, but help seems few and far between, so I figured I would make a post and at least get some logs attached to a top level post.
I am not sure which logs are needed, so I have included the full zip download from my server as of a short while ago. Hopefully there is enough information in there to help nail this down.
