I just set up a new server on my Shield TV. When accessing the Web interface for that server I do not see any “On Deck” shows however I do see several shows “On Deck” on my Rokus and my Fire TV.
I can get “recently added” and “Recommended” and some others but I do not see, in the web interface even though I do see it on other devices.
I was wondering if anyone had any idea what I might be doing wrong in the web interface. I find it pretty clumsy to use and set up but I “think” I have stumbled around the interface enough that I should have seen how to add “On Deck” but I find it nowhere.
Never mind. The “On deck” just showed up when “Recommended” was highlighted. It was not there until about ten minutes ago. The it suddenly just showed up. I guess there is some kind of trigger involving time or percentage of scan completed before On Deck" becomes available in the web app.
But whatever was the cause it is now fixed so it is working correctly.
Before I expected “On Deck” to show up I manually marked several episodes/seasons of several shows as watched ie. I did things like on a show with five seasons I marked season 01 and 02 and the first 4 episodes of season 03 as watched. I also did the same to about 5 other shows. (Of course which episodes or seasons so marked were different for each show.)
Therefore I had about five or six shows with a “watched history” before I expected there to be an “On Deck.”
The fact that “On Deck” finally showed up shows that what I did was both reasonable and correct.
Otto, I have been a Plex user for a very long time and I am NOT stupid and I understand how the “On Deck” system should work. It is now working on my new server, it just took a while for that new server to generate and allow for display of “On Deck” on the screen on the web interface.
If you had actually read my entire original post before posting yourself you would have seen that I had an “On Deck” line on my Rokus and my Fire TV so that also meant there was existing “Playback information” to build an “On Deck” and said “On Deck” was in existence, it just was not, for a while, displaying on my server’s web interface.
This was just a case of my impatience. I expected the web interface to display what was being shown on my other clients. It is not unreasonable that there were some delays in what got displayed, it was just unexpected that the various client interfaces showed something before the web interface showed the same thing.
