I open the app, click ‘sign in’, get the sign in dialog at app.plex.tv/auth opening in Chrome, click ‘sign in’ again, and it tells me “Plexamp Thanks! You have successfully signed in…”
Plexamp appears as an authorized device in my server settings.
But when I close Chrome and open Plexamp, it just shows me the sign in button again.
I have tried this with Chrome and Firefox Preview on the phone. I have reinstalled Plexamp, and tried clearing browser cache/application data/etc. I’ve logged out of plex in the browser.
It doesn’t spin for any amount of time, and it doesn’t show an error - it says that sign in has been successful and I can close the window, and Plexamp shows up in my server settings as an authorized login.
But when I then switch back to Plexamp, it just gives me the sign in prompt again.
I checked my LAN and I don’t think DNS rebind is turned on via the router. I use a pihole, but I completely disabled that and still saw the same behavior. Plex is accessible from outside the network, etc.
Thanks - I don’t think it’s that. I’m not using unbound. I disabled pihole - same issue.
To test further, I installed Plexamp on my laptop, which is using the same network connection as the phone (via wifi, remote from my home network). Plexamp on the laptop can authenticate and sign in fine. So the problem seems to be isolated to the phone/android app.
Did you ever get an answer? I’m having the exact same issue. I can log into Plex Amp but not Plex Dash. It seems odd that they would have login externally instead of just inside the app.
