To play directly from the Plex app to Sonos, while on the same wifi network as a Sonos speaker, I should hit the Cast icon.
If I do so there is an option for Sonos prompting to link my account. But when I click one this nothing happens. It does not redirect me to the Sonos website to link to my Sonos account.
Sounds like your browser might have blocked opening the page. Do you see an indicator at the top of your browser that something was blocked. If so, click on this and select “allow”.
Thank you for the answer. After several unsuccessful attempts, I completely uninstalled the Plex Media Server and Sonos and then set them up again. Now I can select one of my two Sonos boxes as the playback device.
Now another problem arises: when I want to play a movie (MP4 file), it says that the playback device only supports audio. This is very unfortunate. It would be nice if there was a solution for this.
