Cannot scan library

I created a music library as a plex pass library when I had a Plex pass membership.

My Plex pass membership has expired so if I click on my library and do scan library files, I get an error that a plex pass membership is required for this library,

The problem is that when I add new files to the music folder, Plex does not pick them up automatically and I cannot tell it to scan for new files.

Is there any other option besides creating a new library ? I do not want to create a new library because the first time that I tried to do this, it didn’t pick up the artist artwork for any of the artists and showed a black square with the music icon inside of it for all artists.

Remove the Library and recreate it. It is likely that you enabled the Premium Music Library functionality when you created it, which requires Plex Pass. There is no way to simply disable it. You’ll have to remove and re-add.

is there a way to do this and not have to recreate my playlists ?

You can keep the premium library. That way your playlists will still work.
But you cannot extended those playlists or the premium library.

That’s why you need to create an additional, ‘regular’ music library.

By extend, do you mean add to the premium playlists and library ?

Thanks very much - I was having exactly the same problem having created a Music Library when I was a PlexPass member and am now no longer a PlexPass member. I simply deleted my Library and started over - not ideal but it works.
