After adding some more media to my music library today. I attempted to update the library and was met with a message stating that I needed to be signed in with a Plex Pass account to update the library.
I have no issue updating any of my video libraries on the same server, just the music library.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to why I’m not able to do this where there was no issue before?
I have closed the application. Rebooted and the issue persists.
My frustration is the audio media I’m adding belongs to me and I don’t understand why I should have to have a Plex Pass account to simply access it through Plex when image libraries and video libraries on the same server are able to update without it.
Have you ever had a Plex Pass? The only reason I can think of for what you’re seeing is if your music is a Premium music library, created while you had a Plex Pass, and then the Plex Pass lapsed. In that case, if I understand correctly, your Premium music library is still accessible, but you can’t modify it, such as adding new media.
Thanks, that was it. Rebuilding the library from scratch.
Thanks again.
