I already placed this on Facebook and plex advised me to post this problem om the forum. so here it is
i have a strange problem
i started with plex last month on my nvidia shield with a synolgy nas as storage for my media. So latest android version of plex is used.
1 added a tv series library (with Sonarr in the background) and this works great
2 added a movie library (with couch patato in the backgrond and also works great
Now the problem started, i created a music library and added a map with just one MP3 album. No entries are found! so i did a manual scan and then a popup is saying that i need a plex pass to do a scan !?!?!
i deleted the entire library and created a new on (only def setting are used) added the map with the mp3 album and again no result. i need to have a pass to scan this library.
what is wrong? are you not allowed to create/fill a library without buying a pass?
Are you sure you did not downgrade the server software version on your Shield? (Happens if you reset the Shield to factory settings)
Which Plex server software version do you have on it now?
While creating the new music library, did you go into the ‘Advanced’ tab and change the selections for ‘Scanner’ and ‘Agent’? It probably only works if both are set to ‘Plex Music’.
That’s the URL I’m using. The strange thing is that it works for every other type of library without any problem. Only the music library gives this problem I deleted the lib, created it again and still the message you need a plex passport.
Could you share your server logs after an attempted scan? That error modal is from an older version of the web client and it should only show up if the media server responded with a specific error code.
