Cannot turn on "old player"

First time poster, I cannot for the life of me find out how to check the player version, no recent topics on it, the FAQ for Smart TVs doesn’t exist. I’m accessing a Plex server via a Toshiba smart TV, and for a number of older files, the “new player” would struggle or not play them. Not an uncommon occurrence it seems, so I would routinely go to settings and disable the new player. Today, after seeing that the new player had been default activated again and was failing, I went to settings - advanced, and there is no option to disable the new player. Has the old player been removed? Please bring it back, as the new player is insufficient to play many files.

Im having the same issue as of today, I can no longer turn off the “new player” and the majority of my media will no longer play.

I think that is an Android TV so version number is in settings on the bottom right of screen. There is not an “old player” anymore in the app. If you can provide the app logs after something fails to play I will make a report for Android team. https://support.plex.tv/articles/201573117-android-android-tv-fire-tv-logs/
