New Player = No image

Basically with each new version pushing to my Philips Android TV, new player is automatically turned on, it plays… but only sound, no image. Since this new player appeared a few months ago I only had the choice to turn it off to stream anything. Please see the log and have a nice day, if anyone can help :slight_smile:

I am having the same issue since a couple of days. Up to now Plex was working fine on my Philips TV(2017).
I am not sure to undertand what you mean with “new player is automatically turned on” and whatever this new player is how do you turn it off?
I could not find a way to make it work again and no idea what happened. Other apps are not affected only Plex is not working.
If anyone can help, would be great.

Try to deactivate “new player” (which is the update for the player we had for years I guess) via settings, it does the trick for me but it is a solution that won’t last long, as the “new player” will certainly be “the player” soon enough.
My Philips TV was bought around the same year, maybe 2016.

Check these forums, you are not alone. As I read the new player will sooner or later be the norm, I wanted to add my 50 cents to the pile so developers know more about our issue here.

I have not found the new player settings. Could you give me a little guidance where to find it and disable it. At least it will work for a couple of weeks/months more until there is no other choice.

I will need to check out my TV when I’m at home so I can tell you where to find the option, what I do remember though is that you need to check out settings, via the main menu on the left (cog on the bottom)

go to settings on the left bottom of your screen, then Advanced settings, you should find an option about new player enabled, disable it.
