Can't access external servers since firewall update

We have changed the firewall server at work and I can no longer connect to any plex servers from my work PC.

I know my plex server is on and has external because I can still access it from my phone and laptop. I have a couple of different servers on my account and I can’t connect to any of them since the firewall server change, not even to plex cloud.

I’m guess it’s just a port that needs to be opened up to fix this? Anyone have any ideas?

Sorry forgot to state the actual error:
The server “SERVERNAME” is unreachable. Make sure it’s running, double check your network, and try again.

If your employer has changed their firewall and has decided to block plex.tv services, there is nothing which can be done. It is their network.

Could be doing egress filtering (preventing you from hitting port 32400 on the internet) or could be proxying, which could have the same effect. You can try to change your public port to something they do allow (80/443?) and see if that helps.

They don’t have an issue with opening the port up. They didn’t specifically block plex. I spoke to the IT guy and he said he can open it up if I can provide details on the port it will use.

So do they just need to open port 32400 for my machine?

If that is what is going on, then yes, they need to allow internal computers to access port 32400 on the internet.

Sorry my understanding on ports isn’t great. Do they just need to open up the port for my machine? Does it need to be pointed at something? or just opened up? They don’t want to open it for all internal computers.
