Can't access my server anymore on CCwGTV after password change

Server Version#: 1.28.1.6104
Player Version#: latest Chromecast app

After the recent leak I too changed my Plex account password. After that, I can no longer access my server with CCwGTV. I had to login in again with plex.tv/link, which succeeded, but I don’t see my server anymore.
I have two CCwGTV (on two different TV’s), it happened for both of them.
It’s working on all other Plex clients I have (Windows, Android, iOS).
It’s working on CCwGTV for all other home users except the account owner (admin). I can switch to other home user accounts and can access my server as usual. Switching back to admin account: no server.

The same thing has happened to me. Changed the password and now my server is not authorized! What a load of crap.

So I don’t have a CCwGTV, but I do know there are multiple posts in the PMS forum section about lost local media. Most of those seem to be due to their local PMS server not being reclaimed. I’m not sure if this will solve your problem or not, but I thought I’d throw the idea out there, just in case.

In the event you aren’t sure how to claim your PMS:
To get to your server you can use http://127.0.0.1:32400/web if you are working from the physical machine the server resides on. If you are on a different machine you will need to use the Plex server IP such as http://enter.your.ip.here:32400/web From what I’ve been told, this must be an IP address, not a hostname. This will then take you to the server. I believe you will need to log in with the new password for the first time connecting. It is, after all, a computer logging into your Plex account. After that go to the wrench in the top right corner. Now go to “General” under the settings section on the left. Make sure you are in the “Settings” section and not the “Plex Web” section for general. Now you should see “Claim Server” click this and wait for it to finish. Tada, you have your local content back!

Hope that helps.

That does not solve this issue. After a password change you have to reclaim your server anyway before you can see it again. I did the reclaim before all of the above happened.

Hi - sort of the same issue here.

I also reset my password. Lost access to my local PMS (although I still have access to my two friends PMS and plex online services). I tried with both an admin account and regular non-admin account.

I am accessing the plex server using it’s own ip address from the same network it resides (http://10.1.1.10:32400/). Although same behavior is happening when accessing it from plex.tv.

The settings section only contain my users settings and the plex web app settings. No server section.

Any ideas if I can fix this without resetting PMS to factory?

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Accepted answer here: Plex installation doesn't give option to setup server - Ask Ubuntu did the trick.

It appears that after the password reset, server needs initial setup, which can ONLY be performed via 127.0.0.1 (localhost) address.

And because my server was headless, I had to do port forwarding. No brainer, but I had no idea it does not work via the server’s network address from the same subnet.

Must be a fail somewhere here. Can’t be just me.
