I am using Plex Web and after following the promopts to reset my password today, I find my server is unavailable. I have signed out and signed in on all platforms, followed all the trouble shooting tips and and still nothing. A bit desperate, would be glad of any help.

Same here, but on CCwGTV. After changing the password, I can’t see my server anymore in the Chromecast Plex App. One day later: the same. I have two CCwGTV on two TV’s in my home. It’s happening for both of them.
It’s working for other home users tho. When I switch to another home user (not admin), I can access my server flawlessly. Switching back to admin account: no server.
same here. reinstalled plex on the NAS (Asustor) multiple times, reset stuff, did the preferences.xml steps…) still nothing. I can sign in to web app and windows app fine, but the server isn’t letting me access anything. just say unauthorized in the web app, and “unauathorized, owned” in the windows app, but windows app keeps losing connection, and seems to be just stuck on testing…
I am on my way to reinstall all the stuff (with custom domain name) from scratch, after backuping my pfx cert, and the config file available at /Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/preferences.xml. I’ve removed all data in the Plex directory on my Synology
It’s a real pain in the butt but it seems to work. I had to connect from my internal network IP first (192.168.xx.xx:32400) to my Synology Plex server. Then I got the setup page… And I had to rebuild all.
Several years of metadata prepared with love are lost. I’m disgusted…
I have the same issue, tried all the steps. Even reset my password again and claimed my server again and still can’t access it remotely via web and streaming boxes. The other weird thing is I can access my server from my andriod phone but nothing else.
It’s only my experience, but I had no message to claim my server again. Only an empty dashboard with some dummy stuff from Plex, once the password had been changed.
No option in the settings panel, nothing anywhere. Nada. Of course, even if I don’t know about the technical side about Plex, I knew it was something in the configuration that was missing. But since there was no information easily available when I “asked Google”. I was trapped.
I’m not trying to blame you, but you should warn your users about what could happen to them… Then they will choose.
I had some expert help from one of the Plex employees last night which I’m thankful for but yeah, this information would have been handy before I changed my password because it’s a real process to reclaim your server.
