Can't access server on any device after upgrading drives [RESOLVED]

Server Version#:1.40.1.8227

Hello. I hope you all can help, I have googled until my fingers are raw and can’t find a solution.

I upgraded my Synology 224 DS224+ drives over the past few days, using the replace and repair method, one at a time, wait to rebuild. I now have two new drives, they are working, all files and media are where they should be.

When I first tried plex after the rebuild, it seemed to work fine.

As of a few hours ago, it stopped. I either get “not authorized” or “not available”. I have already checked the permissions on the shared media folder.

I have already tried uninstalling Plex and reinstalling. When I used the default package on the Package Installer, I get that the server is “not available.” This could have something to do with installing an older version over a newer one, I guess? So I uninstalled again, reinstalled manually with the downloaded PlexMediaServer-1.40.1.8227-c0dd5a73e-x86_64_DSM7 file (which I think is right for my NAS) and used a claim code. It said I successfully claimed the
server. Still nothing.

I also tried editing the Preferences.xml file per the help page and logging into the local server. A few times that worked and I got as far as the “Claim Server” button in server settings, but nothing happened when I clicked it. On the latest try, I’m back to “not authorized.”

Currently, on the web plextv app, I am getting “unable to connect securely.” None of this makes sense.

I don’t know what to do. This was all working fine for several hours after the drive repair, and now it’s just… not. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Using FileStation,

Navigate to PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server

In there. right-click LogsCompress to Logs.zip

When complete, download to your computer then attach (upload) here with your next reply.

We’ll look at what’s happening

Logs.zip (1.1 MB)
Attached, thanks.

Most recent status after trying to reinstall again – I can get into the server settings on the local web address. “Claim Server” is there under general, but nothing happens when I press the button. It also says “an update is available, please install manually” but as far as I can tell the version I have is the most recent one.

In the plextv app, I am getting “cannot connect securely.”

Just happened to be here.

Looking now. please standby

Your networking changed.

The DNS lookup / gateway IP address isn’t working.

It cannot lookup Plex.tv

Upgrading HDDs (Storage Manager) doesn’t have anything to do with Control Panel - Network.

You’ll need to track down what changed in your network.

I don’t know what changed, but I restored the Synology DSM settings from a backup I made before I started the upgrade, and after logging into the local address again, things started working again.

So I don’t know exactly what it was, but your answer sent me in the right direction. Thank you! Very glad I had that backup.
