Can't access server remotely

Server Version#: 1.40.4.8679
Player Version#: Any

I am behind a VPN, but have ports forwarded. I can telnet into my server over a remote network without VPN. I have external port 41898 forwarded to internal port 32400. This was previously working and suddenly stopped.

Telnet log:

I am seeing issues about Jumbo frames enabled but have all my network adapters MTU set to 1400:

Apr 09, 2025 16:29:28.710 [133255804713784] WARN - [HttpClient/HCl#4e] HTTP error requesting GET https://v4.plex.tv/pms/:/ip (52, Server returned nothing (no headers, no data)). Network appears to be configured for jumbo frames.

I also keep seeing this issue in my logs:

ERROR - Error parsing allowedNetworks entry ‘’: Invalid argument [system:22]

Wish I could help. I also recently have been denied access remotely to my PLex account. Worked with Verizon for an hour to no avail.

What does the following return, if run from a terminal on your Plex Media Server host?
curl https://v4.plex.tv/pms/:/ip

What should be returned is your public IP address. The server uses this to determine what to register with Plex’s servers as your connection information (the IP part of it at least).

Regarding the parsing error, in the web client navigate to Settings → [Select Server Name] → Network. Ensure “LAN Networks” is empty or has reasonable values set. There can be no whitespace in this field (no spaces). So even if it looks empty, make sure by checking for whitespace.

Running curl https://v4.plex.tv/pms/:/ip returns my public IP.

I am in the process of updating my server as the app on my iPhone told me it was outdated so maybe that will fix it.

Turns out I had a , in the LAN Networks after an IP address - ex 192.168.86.100/24,. I removed the trailing , and this solved that error so thank you for that solution. I thought it was related to why I was unable to reach my server but unfortunately not lol.

EDIT: Updating my Plex server did not help resolve the issue.

For what it’s worth, I moved the VPN and programs requiring VPN to another server and use Plex without a VPN without issue.
