Remote Access Problem

Hello All:

I have just activated remote access on my Plex Server and it shows "Fully accessible outside your network:. Then after awhile this happens

I do nothing and it stays just that way. If I click on “Apply” to force a reconnect then all is a-okay as shown

Why is this happening and how can I correct it?

Randy

Check firewall. I would edit pictures no need for us to know your public ip

The firewall on the machine running the Plex server is not on but the one on my router is and is set to allow all outbound traffic but only allow inbound for that which was initiated from an internal I/P address. I was using Jumbo frames and I read where that could cause Plex some trouble so I shut that down. So far it’s been running but we will see.

Thanks - Randy

Stopping the use of Jumbo Frames did nothing to prevent the Plex server from disconnecting again. So now it’s on to “Manually specify public port”.

I have the same issue. Remote Access works fine for a few hours, maybe a day, then for some reason becomes "unavailable:. Once I shut down the server and restart it, remote access works fine again for awhile. It’s setup on a windows 10 box with the port manually specified to 32400. Any suggestions?

Same here, this is super annoying. Never happened until version 1.0. Each morning I gotta restart the service basically. Users are dropping like flies due to this :frowning:

I am having the same issue. This did not start until I updated to the latest version. What gives?

I am having the same problem. I run PMS on a DOCKER using UnRaid

stop using UPnP, do a port redirection.

it is due to the timeout of your router on having UPnP port redirection settings.
Avoid this hassle and do the port redirection once and for all.

Problem still there and since we can’t downgrade due to downloads being removed this need to get addressed asap. I’m connecting fine to my server directly - using public ip and port 32400 just as it always has, and can through there make the plex service realize it should work fine - which it then does for some time until it breaks down again. So my port is ofcourse mapped just fine manually. The problem is elsewhere. Who got the amazing idea to remove the older releases before testing 1.0? Does anybody have 0.9.17.2 for ubuntu 64bit available?

I’ve tried disabling the UPnP port on the modem, but that doesn’t seem to help either… I was having issues before the upgrade. If there is any idea on why this happens it would sure help a BUNCH of us out…
