Not available outside your network [Lies?]

Hey all,
Hoping someone has an idea on this. I’m running Plex Media Server 1.0.0.2261 on Ubuntu 15.04 64bit.
Having trouble with direct server connection (‘Indirect’ in the mobile app works OK), and the configuration page is showing “Not available outside your network”.

My perimeter device is a Meraki MX64 Security Appliance (no uPnP support), it has ports 32400 TCP and UDP forwarded to my Plex server, and the plex server has selinux disabled, and iptables is all allow. I’ve enabled the ‘Manual port’ option under advanced settings in Plex (assigned to port 32400 as per the port forwarding), and I can access my server’s plex web interface on http://<external_ip>:32400/web/ from outside my network - so I really don’t see what the problem is? I’ve checked the Meraki appliance, and it’s not showing any security issues, so it doesn’t look like any blocking is happening.

Image showing me connected to server on it’s external IP (using a 3G wifi hotspot), with the config + error: https://www.dropbox.com/s/799uoitmqnfxwgc/plex.png?dl=0

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Darren.

The Plex Media Server.log after enabling debug logging on the server and restarting the server and then disabling and re-enabling Remote access may give some clues

Yeap that did help, thanks - saw the following:

Jun 26, 2016 10:24:12.305 [0x7f8a555e3700] WARN - HTTP error requesting POST https://plex.tv/servers.xml?auth_token=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (52, Server returned nothing (no headers, no data)). Network appears to be configured for jumbo frames.

Disabled jumbo frames on my network and it’s all OK now… I’d be interested to know more on why Jumbo frames are an issue though?

The Amazon cloud servers that Plex use do not allow MTU Size greater than 1500 and some messages sent to these servers would exceed that size and need to be split - hence the limit on MTU Size advised on the Troubleshooting Remote Access support page https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200931138-Troubleshooting-Remote-Access
