Can't add a new server

When I try to launch a new server it doesnt give me the option. On plex.tv it shows no servers. When I login via my TV or phone it shows two servers. Can someone please fully remove those two servers so I can launch my new server. They are named plex and ourmedia. Thank you.

It is never possible to add a server via Plex.tv

Please see the referenced Documentation.

Only you can remove your servers.

If you wish to remove old servers:

  1. app.plex.tv -> Settings -> Authorized devices -> Servers dropdown
  2. REMOVE the desired servers.

I know this. When I install a new server in linux and launch it never gives me the option to make it a server cause there are already two on my account. WHen I go under authorized they are not listed but yet they show when I login via a device like a TV or phone.

In the upper right corner of your Plex/web browser, sign out.
Now open an incognito window

Are you using a Plex Home? If so, you’ll need select the User (admin) before continuing normally with the new server.

If this is still not working for you:

  1. Is the server local or remote
  2. If local and on the same subnet as you (important) what is the LAN IP range?

I am using plexpass locally. My ip scheme is 172.31.0.0/24. I have tried incognito…

Would you please make a tar.gz of the Logs directory and attach it?

From your logs:

  1. server starts up new
  2. Server performs first-run setup
  3. Server identifies itself as 192.168.0.71
  4. Server starts a few of the agents and gets updated
  5. Server sees you come in from 192.168.0.20
  6. Server gives you the Plex/web client to load into your browser session
  7. You authenticate.
  8. It paints up the page
  9. Logs cut off there.
