Can't change email address on account

I’ve switched over from a Hotmail email address to use my Gmail address full time. I linked my Plex account with my Google account but it won’t let me update my email address to my Gmail one - it says that the email address is already in use. I tried de-linking my Google account but it still doesn’t like it.

I even tried a password reset request trying to login with my Gmail account to see if I could do that then delete any Gmail-based account that might’ve been setup. I’ve not received a reset email though so I’m guessing that there isn’t one.

Any thoughts on how to do this?

The plex account you are using here has no Gmail account linked.
Did you actuall create a new account with the Gmail email address?

I had linked my Gmail account but, when it wouldn’t let me change my primary email address, I unlinked my Gmail account as I thought that was what was holding me back from changing my email address to the one used in my linked account - it sill wouldn’t work though.

I don’t think I ever setup a Plex account with my Gmail address, no. That bears out from my not receiving a password reset email, as the message says something along the lines of “if this email address is on file then you’ll receive an email to reset your password”.

My main thought is that it’s a conflict with Gmail account that I linked, and Plex has got hung up on that even after I’ve unlinked it.

Could you PM me your gmail address please?
I can look it up if there is already a second Plex account which uses this address.

Thanks for sending me the address.
However, there currently is no other plex account which uses that address anymore.
You should now be able to change it. Try again.

I’ve just tried it again and that change has now gone through fine.
