Can't claim second server

I have two Plex servers and am completely unable to claim the second server. Both are running in Docker using the LSIO Docker container.

Everytime I go to the local webUI and enter the settings it will only ever let me even see the already claimed server. It acts like the second server doesn’t even exist.

I’ve already followed the suggestions here Why am I locked out of Server Settings and how do I get in? | Plex Support & here What if Your Plex Account Requires a Password Reset? | Plex Support including the third party ClaimIt tool.

How the hell am I suppose to reclaim my server now? This whole process is a ■■■■■■■ dumpster fire.

EDIT: Alright finally after an hour of my morning wasted I was able to get the third party claim it tool to work. I had to download it and run it directly on the server where the docker was rather than trying to use it over the LAN.

It is frankly ridiculous and unacceptable that I have to rely on third party software from github to fix your own broken server reclamation process. Be better Plex, this was an EXTREMELY unpleasant experience.

same issue here, what tool did you use?

The one they recommended in the linked support articles above: GitHub - ukdtom/ClaimIt: ClaimIt 4 Plex Media Server

I didn’t have any luck with the Windows version over my LAN, I’d recommend downloading the appropriate version directly to the server hosting Plex.

So I changed my password and signed out of all devices as recommended, yet my authorized devices page still has every single device I’ve ever authorized listed still?

I would expect these to all be removed…

Same problem here, though my two PMS’s are not docker hosted but instead just deb package installs on two different ubuntu servers.

As soon as you sign one server into your plex account, it “masks” the other server such that when you connect directly to the second server by its IP address with :32400/web appended, you can only see the first (signed in) server info. There is no way to claim the second server. It just tells you:

SCR-20220824-9lk

This seems to be borked somewhere. There should be some kind of failsafe where any time you are connecting directly to a PMS IP address, no matter what else is going on, no matter how many other servers you have connected, no matter how many times or wherever else you are logged into plex, no matter if the sky is blue or grey or pink, you should have simple, obvious access to a way to sign that server into your plex account. Also, can that crucial fix please be retroactive?

100% concur with this.

I also was able to finally claim my second server using this 3rd party script.

PMS developer team: how is this OK with you?

ClaimIt worked for my plex-docker container. thankyou

So this may not actually be solved for me?

I just checked from another device and the server’s local webui still shows me as not authorized.

This is ridiculous.

EDIT: Yeah so plex can’t make up its mind if my server is working or not. At the local webui it acts like everything is working and my remote access is fine.

But then I go to the Plex hosted web app and it swears my server isn’t reachable.

So which is it? wtf am I supposed to do resolve this? I’ve changed literally nothing about my setup but logging out of all devices as recommended, which has turned a simple password change into an absolute nightmare.

EDIT2: I unclaimed and reclaimed my server AGAIN using ClaimIt and it now seems to be sorted…We’ll see if it actually stays working this time.
