Can't claim server / No remote access

Dec 28, 2022 17:14:40.525 [0x717b1d44] WARN - [HttpClient/HCl#6] HTTP error requesting GET https://plex.tv/api/v2/user/privacy?X-Plex-Token=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxe host name) (Could not resolve host: plex.tv)

The NAS cannot communicate with systems at plex.tv.

Verify your Internet connection is working and stable.

Try restarting your network devices

  1. Shutdown the Synology
  2. Shutdown your Internet modem/gateway/router and any switches/etc between the gateway and the NAS.
  3. Starting with the Internet gateway, restore power, working “from the wall out” towards the Synology. Wait for each device to fully boot and come online before powering on the next device.

Other things to check:
Make sure the NAS’ default gateway is correct.

  1. Login to the NAS
  2. Control Panel → Network → Network Interface
  3. Edit the interface, choose IPv4

If not already doing so, use a public DNS server such as 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare), 8.8.8.8 (Google), or 9.9.9.9 (Quad9).

  1. Control Panel → Network → General
  2. Preferred and Alternate DNS servers?

Make sure the NAS has the correct time.
This also verifies DNS is working correctly.

  1. Control Panel → Regional Options → Time.
  2. Make sure the time zone is correct.
  3. Choose to Synchronize with NTP Server.
  4. Pick a desired server: pool.ntp.org, time.nist.gov, time.google.com.
  5. Click Update Now.
  6. It should synchronize with the time server and return status = Normal.
