Correct network settings for local networks

Hi guys,

can anyone tell me the correct setting, so i can get my plex server via local network in the plex for samsung app working?

I have a NAS with DSM 7 - Latest version
The network-cards are in a bond with a static IP: 192.168.178.90

In the Plex for Samsung app i am able to set up 2 manual defined servers. A first and a second connection IP with a determined port.
I added the local static IP of my media server and the port 32400, but when i check the server status in the app, the server ist still shown as offline.

i can access the server via browser via 192.168.178.90:32400/web
but not over 192.168.178.90:32400

Server Version#:Latest - PlexMediaServer-1.31.0.6654
Player Version#:Latest - Plex for Samsung - Client Version 5.54.1 - Platform 4

IF

  • both server and app are on the same LAN subnet
    -and-
  • The Synology Firewall is OFF -or- Allows Plex’s ports (most of us turn it off and let the main modem-router do it
    -and-
  • The server is claimed to your account

THEN

  1. Open the server via the web browser URL to confirm it shows up there.
  2. Restart the TV app
  3. If it still fails to find the server
    – Remove the Fixed IP addresses – They should never be needed on LAN
    – Restart the server
  4. Wait 3 minutes
  5. Download the logs ZIP file (Settings - Server - Troublehooting - Download Logs)
  6. Attach here
