Can't connect remotely to my server, not even with relay? x

Hello, I recently upgraded to Plex Pass and moved my server from an Nvidia Shield over to a mini PC, and haven’t been able to connect outside my network to my Plex server since. I’ve been debugging for days and haven’t been able to resolve it. I’ve tried many things already and none have worked so far:

  1. Forwarded 32400 port on my router.
  2. Forwarded other random ports and set Plex to that specific port.
  3. Put my Plex server (a mini PC) on DMZ.
  4. Put my plex server on a static IP.
  5. Turned Relay off and on
  6. Tried setting Custom server access URLs
  7. The new server has a different name.
  8. Opened port in Windows firewall
  9. Disabled Windows firewall
  10. Disabled Router’s firewall (I reenabled it after the test, no worries  )
  11. Tried with and without Proton VPN
  12. Tried Proton’s VPN port forwarding and set the same port # in Plex
  13. Restarted the PC/server many times
  14. Restarted the router many times.

Nothing has worked so far… and it used to work on my Nvidia Shield

I’m sure you did it, but seeing as it’s not listed on things you tried, did you claim/reclaim your server?

Thanks for the reply, and yes, I did! it was already claimed, but I removed it and reclaimed just in case.

Sorry, so many things to list that I tried!

For your ISP is the public IP in the range:
CGNAT is the 100.64.0.0/10 subnet (100.64.0.0 to 100.127.255.255), which is designated as “Shared Address Space” by RFC 6598

Check your port forward at https://canyouseeme.org/ if it doesn’t work either your ISP is filtering or your firewall rule is not correct. The server doesn’t even have to be running for this be successful.

Upload your Server Logs (debug not verbose)

You might want to use a different port number for the external (WAN) side of the port forwarding. Pick a random one from 20000 – 50000.
Port 32400 is too well-known by now. ISPs might be tempted to suppress it in order to save on traffic fees going out from their networks.
(the internal port number must always be 32400 though, so don’t change that.)

Here’s my log. My public ip is 184.1**.***.**. I tried canyouseeme.org many times and I can’t reach any port, no matter how many I try. I figured this was the problem but I set the port to allow connection in Window’s firewall rules both inbound and outbound. I even tried disabling the firewall altogether. I tried forwarding specific ports and also UPnP and DMZ on my router.

I thought then it’s my ISP but it used to work on my Nvidia Shield. Shouldn’t it at least work with Relay?

Plex Media Server.log (616.8 KB)

I’ve tried many different ports and canyouseeme can never see any :(. The internal/external ports on my router settings are correct, and my plex server has a static ip.

If canyouseeme.org cannot see any ports you’ve forwarded and the public IP seen by them matches that seen in Plex‘s remote access settings and your router’s WAN IP… it’s probably time to contact your ISP. Even if it used to work on a different machine… maybe they made some changes.

Do you still have the NVidia Shield? Can you try to see if you can port forward to that device still and whether that then shows as open with canyouseeme.
