My Plex server keeps giving me the message "Not available outside your network
Your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable from outside your network. [Learn more]"
I’m not familiar with how sending my server logs or how to troubleshoot port forwarding and would very much appreciate some quick feedback! I don’t know what to do to fix this. I can use it from my home network, but nowhere else.
You should do this withing your home using the same network connection your Plex server is using. Don’t use your mobile network unless you know your home network external IP.
In your router, forward port 32400 to the IP address of your Plex Server.
Look up port forwarding on Google for your router model. You’ll need to know the IP address of your Plex Server PC.
Yeah, i’ve done this and that fixed the issue for the last month, but last night it all of a sudden stopped. idk if the latest update crashed it or what but now its not working.
Has the IP changed for your Plex server. Do you have it set up as static?
Make sure the router port forward setting is still valid.
Are you using a VPN?
It may be possible to get Plex to work with PIA but before you go down that road, is it absolutley necessary to have a VPN on that PC? It throttles transfer speeds are is very difficult to keep Plex working.
You don’t need to turn Plex off but you won’t be able to connect from outside your LAN when the VPN is running.
I use Hyper-V to run a virtual Windows 10 setup for VPN. I have qBittorrent running in the Virtual Windows install.
