Alrighty so here’s where I’m at. I recently switched from an iPhone 15 Plus to an iPhone 17. Same network, same eSIM, same account, nothing else really changed. However now whenever I try to run a device off my hotspot from the iPhone, everything works, even the free content within plex will load, BUT it always shows my home server as offline.
I have done a ton of troubleshooting and worked through a few different steps with folks in the Discord Server and the Plex Subreddit. So far nothing has worked. Please see here for the majority of the troubleshooting steps we’ve attempted.
If I go to Plex through a web browser, and force it to access via the traditional desktop page web player (Version #: 4.159.0) it will work and connect normally. However, if I use the plex app’s for either windows or android, or even the mobile web player at www.watch.plex.tv (couldnt find a player version anywhere for this one), it refuses to connect to my home server and just shows it as ‘Offline’.
I’ve looked through the Console while trying to connect via the tablet, and couldnt find anything coming up, but is raised something different that I found.
When digging through the console logs live, When I would connect via the desktop web player that allowed the connection and played the content from my server, the IP that was coming up connecting to the server was NOT the IP that was on the device through the hotspot. This makes me think something else might be happening in between.
I’m hoping someone with networking experience or perhaps a Plex Employee who has access to more information on these connections than I as the server admin do, might be able to help determine what is going on here and how to fix it.
Thank you all in advance.
