I turned Plex on today to watch and found that all my media including friends was offline. Couldn’t get it to reconnect so I signed out of mine now I can’t get my media to show back up or add a library, can’t find the add library. I do see my friends libraries show back up when I logged back in. I went and checked my synology and it is still running. I don’t see where to add my library back to Plex as that is really the problem. I don’t see the add button.
Am I missing something. I am signed into Plex and have a lifetime license but can’t see my media anymore just my buddies
Sounds like you might have unlinked your server from your account. This can e.g. happen if you change your password and select the option to sign-out all devices.
You should still be able to access your server using its local IP address from within the same subnet:
http://[Syno IP address]:32400/web
If the server is indeed no longer linked to your account… check out Settings > [Server Name] > General – there should be an option to sign-in on that settings page.
I can’t find mine either. I’m fighting with Plex for many years so far. I’ve got in contact with Help teams several times in the past. I think the question is that Plex keeps you always occupied, one problem afterr another an d that is it, you needn’t to access to your media nor to Plex TV Channels because you have always something to be fixed.
Sorry if that’s your experience. I’ve been running my server for 5+ years without such issues. That doesn’t mean it can’t happen (as you shared your experience) – though it seems if you keep running into such problems over and over, there might be a more fundamental problem with your setup.
I’m facing a similar issue with PMS running on Linux. While I can connect to
selection
is simply not available, instead on the home page under + Your Media I’m getting presented with the option to Add your media to Plex.
How is it possible that I’m able to connect to my PMS instance but then the Plex web app severed from this very same PMS instance thinks I don’t have PMS installed yet?
With regards to (2), I could not find key PlexOnlineHome, but I removed the other three entries.
There was no difference in behavior though when accessing my PMS instance via the hostname; it would require me to login first and then my media was not listed as before.
If however I used the IP address instead to connect to my PMS instance, I would see my media right away, but then under PMS > Settings > General the warning This server is unclaimed and not secure shows up and when I click on CLAIM SERVER I’m getting error
There was a problem signing in to Plex.
If I cannot claim my own PMS then I’m stuck with just a different problem.
Also, how can it be that I get different behavior if using http://<PMS-IP>:32400/web/ vs http://<PMS-hostname>:32400/web/ if the <PMS-hostname> is mapped to <PMS-IP> in all my /etc/hosts?
