can anybody please advise, ive been on the plex forums most of the day trying to sort it

Should be as simple as not to enable the Plex Media Server on the Shield when you’re being asked if you want to do that during the first start.
If you accidentally enabled it… you can disable it again in your Plex client settings:

Plex should then ask you to connect to your account using a link code (requires you to open a Plex URL from a browser – if you’re not currently logged into Plex in that browser, you’ll need to sign-in first).
See “Connect to Your Account Using a Link Code” in the support article below:

After you linked the app to your account for the 1st time, Plex will ask you some questions to customize the home screen (e.g. preferred server / which libraries to pin etc.)

ive found it now (sort of )

but it doest look like it used to the gui

it used to look like the picture at the bottom of the second link
