I keep getting… can’t find media server… it worked at the beginning… but now it doesn’t after I have disconnected the server (external hard drive)… now is says can’t find Imac server
Same. Running Plex on an iMac, consistently can’t find the server even on the iMac. None of my clients can access it, but I expect the machine that’s running the server locally to be able to do it.
Until tonight I’ve been able to fix this by quitting the server and rebooting it (and all my clients) that no longer works.
Have you tried changing the iMac DNS like to 8.8.8.8
Also make sure you use this address in a browser to open Plex
