Help please

My Plex Server has been problematic for a while & today stopped working altogether. I followed the uninstall procedure & then tried to reinstall. It just doesn’t want to know anything. It won’t connect to my iMac, which is where all my media files are. I only have the Plex Media Server installed. Shouldn’t there be something else as well?

My iMac is running macOS Big Sur 11.7.8. That’s the latest for my iMac. Safari is up to date.

Any helpful, and reasonably simple, please, suggestions, would be welcome as I’m used to have Plex running across all my devices & would hate to have to switch to something else. Thank you.

Try accessing the server locally.
If you are on the PLEX server type http://127.0.0.1:32400/web into the address bar. If PLEX is on another device on your LAN type http://server.local.ip.address:32400/web into the address bar (e.g. “http://192.168.1.5:32400/web”). This will verify the web app is present. If it isn’t complete the setup, if it is you might need to log off the PLEX server and reclaim it.
