Can't full-screen video on Google Pixel 5

When using my Google Pixel 5 to play movies with 2.35:1 aspect ratio, I cannot use the full screen in landscape mode. There is always a vertical black bar on the side of the screen with the camera, no matter which Display Mode I choose in Playback Settings.

Netflix, YouTube, and Google TV can all use the full screen to display 2.35:1 content, with no vertical black bars, just a small divot where the camera is. I’d like Plex to be able to do so too.

I’m surprised this isn’t mentioned more! Just bought a pixel 6 pro and yeah it looks horrible playing movies in Plex. Would much rather the whole screen be taken up around the camera hole punch it looks way better that way

Same here on a Pixel 6. Tried playing with the Android developer options to change the Display Cutout settings, but didn’t appear to have any effect.

Edit: it works when Full Screen in display settings is enabled for Plex. All other video apps don’t need that setting. It’s great that Plex handles it correctly!

Same on Motorola Edge 20 Lite. Please add an option for fullscreen playback!
