I use Plexamp on Android as my controller and the Plex app on NVidia Shield is my receiver, both running current versions.
I start the Plex app on the Shield and then start playing music on Plexamp on my phone.
The Shield appears in the Select Players list and I can fling to it, no problem at all.
However when I want to get playback returned to Plexamp on my phone, nothing seems to work properly.
Hitting “disconnect” in the Players list stops playback on the Shield but I never get prompted to continue playback on local device.
Occasionally the Players list will have play controls showing under the Shield. One of these is a double-down-arrow which I though might mean return playback here. I think it worked once a while ago but now it just seems to stop playback on the Shield and Plexamp is completely blank with no art, no controls and just a busy spinner.
What is the correct procedure to get flung music returned to Plexamp ?
As an interesting aside, when I use the Plex app on my Samsung TV as receiver, I can fling and return the music stream without issue when selecting “This Device”, so the problem would seem to relate to the Plex on on the Nvidia Shield. With this in mind I rebooted that device before starting the test.
14:06 Start playing on Plexamp
14:07 Fling to Shield
14:10 Next track starts on Shield
14:11 “Could not switch to player” when tapping “This Device”
Plexdash shows the Shield playing the stream at 14:10, 14:11 and beyond.
Also I can still pause and restart playback on the Shield with Plexamp at all times.
