Trying to add music videos to my library. Several of the videos don’t have the matching audio files in my music library so I went with the global music video route.
Added “/music_videos” in the extras option to plex, which I’ve confirmed the server sees as the correct mapping.
Music videos are all in that folder titled “Artist - Desc-video.ext” (ex. Interpol - Evil-video.mp4).
Re-scanning my music library shows nothing new. Interpol does not appear as a new artist in the library, and for artists that are already in my library, no new extras show up.
That doesn’t help.
Plex does not support a library of music videos.
Even the global music videos folder is only meant for augmenting your existing album artists music.
Which means you need at least one music album by any artist for which you want to add a video.
Ah, I couldn’t find that info in the global music video guide. Still not sure why the artists I have aren’t showing up, but sounds like using any kind of music library won’t be the route I want to go here.
