Can't Get Past Logo Screen on PMS

MAC MINI (mid 2010) OSX Yosemite v 10.10.5

So for about a year when I try and open plex it just hangs on the logo screen. No updates have fixed it, but I’m starting to wonder if one of them broke it. I can access it through another computer via local ip only. It PMS functions fine, but it’s odd I can’t just open the program on the hosted server computer.

When you say “plex” just hangs on the logo screen… this is the Plex desktop player app?
What version of the player do you have installed?

I mean the media server app that’s running in the task bar. If I click on the icon and select OPEN. It opens the safari browser to the server IP. That’s where I just get the logo. The players work fine.

You could try

  1. Open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web directly in Safari
    • if that’s not working… have you already tried using a different browser? – not sure if the Safari version on macOS 10.10.5 might be causing some of that
  2. Disable any browser add-ons / plug-ins that might interfere with Plex loading.

I’m having the same problem with an iMac running El Capitan. I downloaded the previous version of the Plex Server, and everything is fine. The latest update doesn’t run properly in El Capitan using Safari 11.1.2.
