I recently went through an ordeal of updating from FreeNas 11 to TrueNas 12 because I couldn’t get things sorted after signing out all devices. I ended up creating a new jail using the plugin feature for PMS. I brought my settings over by copying the folders, got my networking issues sorted, and now I’m stuck with what seems to me to be an odd issue.
Everything is working well except that every time I try to play something requiring a transcode nothing happens. From high-intensity video transcoding down to music 320kbs to 128kbs. Nothing seems to happen, PlexAmp for instance will just end up skipping any high bitrate songs when I’m on cellular. Before the update I could support multiple 1080p transcodes to users that I share with.
This is old hardware but has always been up to the task:
Xeon E3-1225 v3 in a Supermicro board with 32gb ECC ram.
Any advice would be appreciated!
