it doesnt do folder names
but ill have to try this filebot
As far as I can see you are still on the legacy agents for both tv shows and movies.
These agents are no longer supported and won’t receive any bugfixes.
The recommendations in the support pages are valid for the new agents.
You might want to give this a read:
ah ok ill check it out thanks
i wouldnt know what its using… all i know is Unraid Server updates everynight and if plex needs updating it updates… and all i ever do is after i rip my dvds and convert them i just move them to the folder for videos… i never knew anything about new versions of plex i let things just auto update
but ill check it out the links… thanks
For me I found creating a new Library with the new TV Agent and scanner was best as I use intros. These can take some time with large libraries, therefore your new TV Library would be actively getting things in order. But now your family can be watching the older Library without possible annoyances.
ok so i did the upgrade thing and did the new library and scanned the shows seems to work
but under Plex server / Agents
it doesnt have Plex Movie
just Plex Movie (Legacy) like it shows in that one article in the post above…
i had to play with the movie datebase agents page i moved it to the top for the movie database to the top for “the movie database” agent
im also running Version 1.23.2.4656
I wonder if any problems are being exacerbated because “Cartoons” is a subdirectory underneath “TV Shows”.
Try moving “Cartoons” out from underneath “TV Shows”.
These settings are only for the old agents.
All customizations for the new agents are done directly in the properties of the library, on the “Advanced” tab.
You want to disable “Prefer local metadata”.
ah ok what does that mean does it mean it reads whats in the file?
and how do you do movies where i have a Directors Cut or Alternative ending
the Movie Database website they dont allow Extended Version, Alternate, Directors Cuts. but these are legitment… is there another website or how does Plex incorporate these… as its frustrating they dont accept it over there
is there another website that does so the actors artwork etc can be added to it
It reads the contents of the “Title” meta tag, but only from mp4/ m4v files.
Wholly different topic. There is no formal support for this in Plex, either.
You can vote on the feature request [Implemented] - Multiple Cuts Of Movie
All you can do is using workarounds Movies - Play Version - #2 by Insomnic_1

Actor data are mostly imported from TheMovieDB.org
So if you edit them over there (while abiding by the rules of this website), they will eventually be available within Plex after a few days.
