I often debate between using the “extras” feature vs version vs split.
My process, just for sake of options…
- Director’s Cut\Extended Cut - Split (Superman II and Superman II Richard Donner Cut are two completely separate listings :: Highlander 2 and Highlander 2 Renegade Cut? I just keep the Renegade cut.)
- Alternate Ending\Alternate Scene - Extra (typically I try to have a clip of the ending instead of the whole version)
- Different Resolution - Play Version (1080p and 4k of same movie - typically the client will pick the “best choice” but not always)
I tried the “extras” for alternate versions for a bit but because extras fall below cast and reviews, people weren’t noticing a different version of the full film was available. I’d prefer to put Fury Road: Black and Chrome as an extra actually because that’s really what it is but nobody would notice it or see it when browsing library feed.
Glad we have options though! I like seeing how folks organize their stuff - gives me ideas too.
