Can't launch Peacock from discover or watchlist on Android TV

Server Version#: 1.41.5.9522
Player Version#: Plex for Android TV (latest from app store)

The Discover and Watchlist features have the potential to be really useful, especially when drawing users into the Plex ecosystem and keeping them there, but they have one really big flaw on the Android TV client, they cannot launch many of the players to play content. Example:

  • After selecting the list of services in Discover, browse to any show either through Discover or Watchlist and scroll down to “Watch from these locations”, then choose one of the services to watch the show
  • After choosing many of the services, either nothing happens, it just goes directly back to the plex screen and never actually launches the service, or it posts something saying “Unable to launch this service, do you want to search for it on Google Play”; of course, it’s already installed.

Services like “Max” and “Disney+” seem to launch fine, but “Hulu” and “Peacock” don’t work. One thing I noticed is that it thinks it wants to launch “Peacock Premium”, in fact the app is just called “Peacock”. This happens on all my android TV platforms, some are Google TV Chromecast streamers, some are TCL or Hisense TVs with Android TV built in, the result is the same everywhere.

This issue does not occur on a regular Android mobile device, only on Android TV. If I do the exact same thing on my phone, it launches Peacock without any issue.

Has anyone else seen this problem? Have you found any fix or solution for it?
