Alot of people don’t understand how caching works. I’ve had dns issues locally with my servers. Misteaks happen even when fixed you need to just have to ride them out. It comes back on it’s s own.
I still am having issues. I get error code 337. Everything else on my network will connect no problem…just my LG TV with issues. Unplugged for 30 seconds…still not working.
Don’t forget to check the clock on your TV (daylight savings). The link codes are time based and if the clock on your TV is wrong, the codes won’t line up.
Apart from cache has nothing to with plex saying its code is invalid.
Point proven it was a fault at their end, i come this morning and hey presto working.
Hate when people pass faults.
Last night was the first time ive ever had an issue with plex in all these years, and i find the support to be absolutely crap, if it ever happens again where i cant access my services ill ditch them in a heartbeat as there are cheaper alternatives.
I just stick with plex because i cant be arsed to set up with someone else
Hey @clairelouise26_live_co_uk, to be fair to plex, i think you may have misunderstood. They’re talking about caching of website/services and authentication rather than anything in “your” server/client (i.e. NOT local caching of comms or buffering either)
I.e. “your” client communicates with their server for authentication ( which is where the caching they’re talking about is) once authenticated it then lets “your” client then communicate with “your” server and you have access to your local content.
Now i personally have issue with this for an entirely different reason (see my previous posts above re local network and internet reliance) but i believe it does explain last nights problem.
I too (as a lifetime plex pass holder) was extremely annoyed, but again to be fair to them, they responded pretty darn quickly and it was sorted the same night.
Please dont take any offence at this post, I’m merely trying to help a fellow plex user and give props where due.
Mine works now. Launched the app on the TV today, it comes up in a foreign language. Click through to get a link code. Enter the code online and it accepted it and now the LG TV app is working again. Good Luck!
Mine works again.
My Plex is fine on my LG again.
Thank you Plex workers for your support.
Good job PLEX team for responding as quickly as you did and fixing it. Unfortunate it happened in the first place but heh.
Plex is OK on my LG. Good job. Thanks.
So thats Interesting, no update to the LG store plex app for a looooong time and 5 days after this issue suddenly a new update appears.
Are there release notes anywhere for v2.2.0 (17/03/2020) of the (LG store) plex app ?
Release announcements for LS webOS updates can be found here:
Check the Plex app settings to see what version you’ve actually got installed; if it’s recent, it should be in the 4.x.x range.
From what I understand, that’s the version/update for the LG webos app loader and not Plex.
Apparently it’s for WebOS 5 Certification
Yeah once loaded by the plex launcher, within the plex ui settings it shows version as 3.something. so its out of date by the looks of it (is that an issue with MY server?)
What version of LG webOS is on that TV? Per the post above, LG webOS (2+ UHD) is needed to get the latest Plex updates.
The plex app settings->about shows the following
Plex for LG: 3.13.28
WebOS: 1.4.0
Lg store plex app (launcher?!) Shows version v2.2.0
My tv is and LG 55UB850-V with lg firmware version 05.05.90 and webos version 1.4.0-2337 (afro-ashley)
Your TV is too old for the latest Plex app releases. Per my post above, you need webOS 2.0 or newer. Also:

Ok (im fine with that as long as it still works) but now really confused as to why the plex launcher app was updated then, makes no sense (given that the lg store appears to also be specific to the older webos).
What was the change to the launcher app?
