Plex not loadng on LG OLED Tv

Server Version#: 1.18.2.2029
Player Version#: 2.1.3

I am getting a new error on my LG tv. It worked previously. I uninstalled the app on the tv, unplugged the tv, reinstalled the app. Same issue. I updated the plex server on my server.

The error on the TV is

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property “pop” of undefined.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Glad I’m not alone!!! Hope the support team sees this.

Any other way to get plex on this tv? Apple works great and so does by tablets so I know it TV related.

Very odd as it working for me without issue.

Server version: 1.18.2.2029
LG client : 4.13.1
MacOS : Catalina 10.15.1
LG OLED 2018

I’m having a very similar issue as of this morning. Tried accessing Plex, my PIN wasn’t working so I deleted and reinstalled the app. Then went to Plex.tv and activated. Said it was successful. Still wasn’t linked

Tried uninstalling and deauthorizing the TV on the server. Still no dice.

Did you restart your TV with a two minute interval from power source and not the remote, after un installing the app.

In this order

  1. Uninstall app
  2. Restart from power source
  3. Remove Device from server. (Authorised Devices)
  4. Install app
  5. Link

Yes I did that.

I would be inclined to roll back the server a couple versions, if that is what is occurring.

Also try first signing out of your account and back in again.

Same thing is happening for me just trying it for the first time in a while this morning. All my other devices load fine, just not the LG app on my OLED. Tried uninstalling, reinstalling but no help there. Didn’t try those steps @SE56 listed so maybe I’ll do that later.

What model and year LG, it seems it 2017 models

It’s the 16 C6. LG OLED55C6

A 2016 LG then, I have not seen a 2018 or 2019 do this on the forums. I would downgrade a couple server versions

I have a 2016 LG, but I do not have this issue. However, my parent’s TV (exact same 2016 model) is having the issue. So I’m not convinced the issue is related to the TV model. However, I have noticed numerous bugs on the LG TVs, and it does seem like the latest update to the Plex app has maybe introduced this issue on select TVs.

Well, yes to that. Could it be a combination of Server version and LG client version. There seems to be a lot issues with latest server version and TV sets older than a couple years.

The TV version we have no control as it automatically applied on start up

Mine is an 18 version and it’s doing it. Seems just on that tv/os all my other TVs and devices work fine. I’ll just have to wait for an update I guess. :frowning:

I have same problem. I did it everything, but still doesn’t work.

So what can we as customers do to speed up resolution? Any logs we can provide or additional steps we can take? Can we open a support ticket?

Earache from the wife and kids is increasing daily!

Obviously there are a number of people with the same or very similar issues hitting up the forum in the last number of days so it is probably fair to say there is a new issue affecting LG WebOS Clients, bearing in mind the years of otherwise reliable functionality of the app.

Thanks

I am also interested in this. The Plex team is usually very responsive, but they’ve been shying away from even commenting on the couple of critical webOS bugs that seem to be plaguing a decent number of people. Based on the fact that it’s one of the only platforms that is still not compatible as a companion player/Alexa player, which was raised over a year ago, I’m slightly worried that they do not have anyone who works on the webOS side specifically.

Same exact problem here! I did not update the LG app (and I have auto updates turned off and there is no update anyways) and I did not update the server (I’m a version or two behind) and I get the same exact error. I updated the server to the latest version and still the exact same error.

Been a few days now and people are still on here. I hope they deal with this quickly as all my TVs in my house are LG so no content is able to be streamed at the moment…

I called LG support and after a long conversation they confirmed it’s an issue with the app. We all know that I just hope plex makes and update soon.

LG is a major manufacturer and could put thousands of users out if plex doesn’t fix the app.

I’d love to send logs to plex support if that would help.
